SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Engineer and Pyramid BI Specialist (Remote)

Overview

GovCIO is hiring a skilled SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Engineer and BI Specialist to support the VA Pyramid Analytics platform. This role involves administering, configuring, and maintaining the SSRS platform, as well as managing and supporting the Pyramid Analytics enterprise BI environment. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and data visualization skills, IIS configuration skills, experience with report automation, experience administering a SQL Server Reporting Services server, the ability to assist a large user base with technical support, training, and navigating complex VA data sources. This will be a fully remote position located within the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support as required to ensure the availability and performance of enterprise data and Pyramid Analytics BI environment for internal VA customers / users. Document processes and procedures as needed. Help users develop, implement, and maintain Pyramid Analytics content. Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes.

Manage system-wide settings such as role definitions, shared schedules, and SSRS report server properties.

Configure the system to optimize performance and assist report builders in their product enhancements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with varying technical skills.

Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts.

Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.

Ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards.

Support infrastructure (on-prem and cloud), test new platform versions, and assist users with data navigation and training.

Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues efficiently.

Implement best practices for performance tuning and report optimization.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelors Degree and 8+ years experience (or commensurate experience)

Strong experience in SQL development and SSRS report creation.

Familiarity with Pyramid Analytics or similar BI platforms.

Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and customer service skills.

2+ years of experience using and supporting Pyramid Analytics

2+ years use of SQL Server

2+ years assisting customers / users in a technical support role

Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Clearance Required :

• Must reside and work within the continental U.S. and have the ability to obtain and maintain a suitability / public trust clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

Ability to train and support users of varying technical skill levels.

Software development / engineering background.

Familiarity with serverless cloud technologies.

Understanding of Agile.

Familiarity with AWS and Azure.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department / team performance, and market factors.

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 / Yr.
