5 axis CNC Programmer / Operator

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures
• Set up and program all CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
• Study blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
• Operate micrometers, dial and digital calipers, veneer and thread gauges, go / no-go pins and other measuring tools and equipment
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; and adjust machine controls or control as required
• Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications
• Refine existing programs and fixturing to improve efficiency
• Interpret specifications and work with Engineering to make producibility recommendations
• Operate CNC machines and CNC lathes
• Attend Quality Manual Standards Training and apply Quality Standards accordingly
• Observe safety and security procedures & report potentially unsafe conditions
