The opportunity

As a Billing and Coding Specialist at Recover, you’ll work directly with our finance team to assign CPT codes to services and submit claims to payers. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our finance team, and grow with new programs at Recover.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to payers, and following up on unpaid claims. The ideal candidate is motivated, dynamic, passionate about healthcare administration, possesses strong knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This role is full-time and fully remote (California-based). Competitive salary and PTO.

Key responsibilities

Coding:

• Assigning CPT codes to services across specialities

Billing:

• Generating CMS 1500 and CMS 837 forms for submittal to payers

Process:

• Develop and provide feedback on processes and systems

Requirements

Need to have

• 2+ years of experience with medical billing
• 2+ years of experience with medical coding / CPT coding
• Deep familiarity with Medi-Cal claims

Nice to have

• CCS Certification
