Job Description :
The Shift Supervisor will oversee daily film extrusion operations, ensure employees work safely and on schedule, and lead operators to meet or exceed quality and output targets. This is a hands-on role that will require extrusion line operation and supervision of a small group of hourly manufacturing personnel for a specific shift. The position is responsible for achieving shift metrics of; safety, quality, productivity and other ITW business objectives. The supervisor will typically assign tasks, set up and operate the extrusion line, conduct in-line quality audits, changeover products, troubleshoot issues, enforce safety and 5S standards, ensuring smooth shift handoffs and continuous production. The Shift Supervisor will also enforce company policies, complete performance reviews and handle disciplinary matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate shift operations of film extrusion lines, including extruders, chill rolls, haul-offs, and winders
- Operate extrusion equipment as needed and provide guidance / training to operators
- Lead and organize team members to perform extrusion line changeovers
- Monitor production schedules and ensure output meets quality and safety standards
- Respond quickly to process and equipment issues during production to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation
- Assist in trial runs of new products and support process validation activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve process or equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Enforce company policies, OSHA safety standards, and plant EHS procedures
- Maintain accurate shift reports and production records in ERP / CMMS systems
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead, coach, and evaluate employees to foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Education / Skills :
High school diploma or equivalent required10+ years of experience in plastic film extrusion, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory roleStrong knowledge of extrusion operations, and troubleshooting techniquesStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong leadership skills, including problem solving, motivating employees, conflict resolution and delegation of dutiesAbility to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, technical drawings, SOPs and production schedulesAbility to develop employee talents and skillsBasic mathematical ability and Microsoft Office capabilityFamiliarity with ERP / CMMS systems (Epicor, Maximo, or similar)Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementAble to speak, read and write fluently in EnglishAbility to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.Preferred Skills
Associates degree, Bachelor's degree and / or technical certification in plastics, extrusion, or mechanical / electrical fieldsMechanical aptitudePhysical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work hours will be 5 : 00PM-5 : 15AM 3-4 days per week. Training will take place on day shift.
Compensation Information :
$29-$34 per hour. Shift premium available for night shift
