Overview :

As the Plant Buyer your new role will be highly visible in an important market to the company. You will be responsible for working across multiple work teams to include operations, business units, vendors, and suppliers to prepare proposals, quotes, and agreements that create savings for the business. In this position you will also apply continuous improvement methods to reduce the overall costs of the commodities you support. You'll use your ability to prepare and analyze data to create a case for savings.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities :

• Manage the day-to-day activities necessary to purchase goods, materials, supplies, and services that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
• Enter orders into the SAP systems for managerial approval and release.
• Support the analysis of supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations with terms that are in the organization's best interest, negotiation.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve problems with the timeliness or quality of supplies.
• Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
• Support the Assessment of supplier's products to ensure they that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
• Collect purchasing related data and provide management with operational reporting.
