A leading healthcare system in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated OB / GYN Hospitalist for a Locum-to-Perm role beginning January 1, 2026 . Provide high-impact inpatient maternity care as part of Iowa’s only maternity transport team, with robust support and no GYN responsibilities.
🌟 Position Highlights
📅 Start Date : January 1, 2026
🕒 Shift Structure :
24-hour shifts (7 AM–7 AM)
6.5 shifts per month
🏥 Setting : Inpatient OB Hospitalist role
🚫 Telehealth : None
🤝 APP Supervision : Not required
🛏️ OBED : 8-bed OB Emergency Department
🧪 Imaging / Lab / Pharmacy : Fully available
👶 Volume :
~1,389 OBED visits / year
~463 deliveries / year
🩺 Support : MFM always on call
Residents present but not under Hospitalist supervision
❌ No GYN responsibilities
💻 EMR : Epic
👶 Job Responsibilities
Manage OBED patients
Handle emergent OB cases (vaginal deliveries & C-sections)
Care for unassigned OB patients
Participate with Iowa’s only maternity transport team
📄 Submission Requirements — MUST be included at name clear
🎓 Board Certified (or truly Board Eligible) — Required
🩺 IA License or Active IMLC — Required (upload LOQ at name clear)
