Manufacturing Shop Leader
We're looking for a hands-on leader who can oversee our clients' manufacturing shop and keep production running smoothly from incoming materials to outgoing finished parts.

Responsibilities
- Keep the production area orderly and ensure all tools and machinery remain operational and well-maintained.
- Use correct machine settings and techniques for cutting and shaping, including appropriate feed rates, cooling needs, and tooling adjustments.
- Prepare mixed material batches so they're ready for the next stage of production, which may involve heat, pressure, or other consolidation steps.
- Provide customers with updates on their orders and address any technical questions when needed.
- Handle incoming materials by checking deliveries and organizing outgoing shipments to meet deadlines.
- Oversee day-to-day operations in a small manufacturing environment, working closely with a tight-knit team to meet production goals.
- Observe material behavior during thermal, pressure-based, or mechanical transformation processes to ensure proper outcomes.
- Work with scheduling requirements and coordinate with outside vendors or service partners when required.
- Assist with any follow-up steps after primary processing, including measurements, conditioning, and dimensional verification.
- Carry out quality checks such as visual reviews, hardness assessments, and dimensional confirmation to maintain product standards.
- Operate general machining equipmentincluding cutting tools, forming tools, and shaping machinesto work with tough or specialized materials.
- Stay on top of supply levels, replacement parts, raw inputs, and other essential shop resources.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all production runs to ensure proper traceability.
- Help finalize components by supporting finishing tasks, inspections, and preparing items for secondary processes.
- Adhere to all safety procedures related to machining equipment, material handling, and production processes.
- Weigh, load, and blend material mixtures using shop-scale processing or mixing equipment as part of batch preparation.
- Track where parts are in the production cycle and monitor inventory movement throughout the workflow.
- Record batch details, monitor operational steps, and confirm that all quality expectations are met at each stage.
Qualifications
Comfortable taking the lead in a production environment, with prior experience guiding a team or overseeing shop activities.Able to work self-sufficiently in a small, hands-on operation where independence and problem-solving are key.Strong mechanical know-how and a solid background working directly with various metal materials.Skilled in operating common shop machinerysuch as cutting, shaping, or forming equipment, including lathes, saws, or similar tools.Experience using equipment designed for mixing, milling, or preparing metallurgical material batches for manufacturing.Knowledge of how different metal types or specialized material blends behave during processing is highly beneficial.Comfortable communicating clearly with team members and occasionally with customers when technical questions arise.If this is something that you are qualified for and interested in, please apply today!
