SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Consumer Loan Funding Manager, the Consumer Loan Funder is responsible for performing duties related to processing and booking a wide variety of member and dealership loans. Ensures all loan funding documentation is processed correctly, completely and in a timely manner. Performs loan processing functions including, but not limited to data entry, filing, document preparation, auditing, quality assurance, fraud prevention and identity theft. Works directly with members to develop, expand and maintain positive consumer lending relationships. Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate support to members, dealers, and co-workers from the application stage through the funding process.

Understands and runs Kelly Blue Book and Auto check. Analyzes results and articulately conveys the next steps involved to protect the Credit Union from any possible future lawsuits.
Understands and runs OFAC and Checksystems and articulately conveys the next steps involved to protect the Credit Union from any possible fraud.
Works closely with dealers and verifies accuracy of all loan paperwork received. Makes outbound calls to members and dealers to verify information when needed.
Assists in coaching and training dealers and branch lending staff on Loan origination software, systems, and required documentation.
Assists in coaching and training dealers and branch staff on account management for loans, including how payments are posted to members accounts.
Articulately explains to branch staff and dealers what steps to take when funding paperwork is incomplete.
Provides quality control of loans prior to funding for regulatory compliance and conformance to minimize risk. Actively communicates these areas with branch staff and dealers.
Maintains relationships with dealers and provides feedback for quarterly evaluations of dealers on Coasthills Credit Union Watchlist.
Reviews credit reports for any inconsistences while performing quality control. If any inconsistences are spotted, verifies the information by calling the member.
Reviews Proof of Residency reporting and social security fraud warnings that need further clarification.
Communicates to dealers CoastHills Credit Union membership qualifications. Opens new membership share accounts for indirect loans.
Communicates with dealers and branch staff application statuses.
Maintains updated system comments within the loan application.
Cross trains in other areas of the Consumer Lending Department as necessary. Serves as support to DMV Specialists and Underwriters as needed to perform servicing, DMV and closing duties.
Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
Receives dealership application packages for funding and authenticates the precision of paperwork. Verifies information with members when required. Assists in fraud prevention by recognizing potential deception. Verifies the accuracy of documents provided and ensures the borrower's information is authentic.
Understands LoansPQ and their application process.
Understands Lending360 and their application process and third-party integration to LoansPQ.
Assists management with quality control by tracking and archiving new account signature cards and questionnaires for the Lending Center and Indirect Loans.
Prepares and provides reports to management on a daily, weekly and monthly progression of Consumer Lending's performance to budget analysis.
Understands how to calculate complex verifications of pay stubs and wages; completes verbal or written verification of employment with required applications.
Understands and remains current on LOANLINER® documents and resources.
May be required to balance, track and prepare reports for general ledgers to include Loan Protection, Guaranteed Asset Protection and Major Mechanical Protection.
Calculates payoffs on vehicle loans for dealerships while ensuring member loan retention.
May be required to processes adjustments and changes on consumer loans.
May be required to compute payment calculation verifying interest and principal calculations, and possible re-amortizations.
May be required to respond to member problems and requests, when necessary, and assists with completion of forms and documents.
May be required to assist members in understanding how their payments are posted to their accounts.
Performs within the lending limits approved by the Board of Directors.
Explains reasons for denial, approval, and explanation of loan stipulations.
Works cooperatively with members, dealers and fellow staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge. skill, and / or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge and understanding of consumer lending procedures, practices and policies and credit fundamentals as would normally be acquired through experience in branch operations.

Knowledge
Experience with Symitar®, Lending360, and Loans PQ®, preferred.
Fraud Mitigation.
Background in all aspects of Credit Union department functions, policies, and procedures; knowledge of Credit Union laws and regulations.
CA DMV policies and procedures.
Advanced skills in Excel and Word.
Experience with computer systems and software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
