Job Title : CNC Machinist
Job Description
The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC mills, lathes, and EDM machines. You will be responsible for reading blueprints, troubleshooting programs, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This position may also require some programming and editing.
Responsibilities
Operate, set up, and potentially program CNC mills, EDMs, and CNC lathes within specified tolerances following work instructions and machine programs.
Propose new production setups and make changes to offsets / tooling as needed.
Perform challenging machining work on a variety of parts and metals, maintaining close tolerances.
Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications.
Troubleshoot and understand CNC programs and processes.
Improve and produce work instructions.
Assist engineering with redesigning fixtures to enhance quality and productivity, change dull tooling, and make minor offsets and adjustments.
Ensure product quality by adhering to operator-owned quality standards and using various measuring equipment.
Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different machining requirements.
Perform routine maintenance according to the daily machine checklist and adhere to the PM schedule.
Perform hand finishing tasks.
Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP / GDP), including completing job routers / cards.
Ensure safe working practices to minimize risks and report issues.
Achieve productivity targets and identify ways to improve productivity.
Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system.
Support continuous improvement activities and escalate manufacturing issues as necessary.
Maintain 5S / housekeeping standards within the work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in medical device, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing with smaller parts and tight tolerances.
High School diploma or general education degree required.
5+ years of CNC machining experience.
Associates degree / certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.

Work Environment
This position offers a 1st shift from 7 : 30am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, or a 2nd shift from 4pm to 12 : 30am, Monday through Friday, with a 10% shift differential for the 2nd shift. Employees have the opportunity for as much overtime as desired.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00 / hr.
