We are seeking a board-certified Family Practice Physician for a 52-day locum tenens assignment at a correctional facility in Arizona. This opportunity starts on Dec 15, 2025, and offers a four-day workweek with 10-hour day shifts (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday). Physicians with correctional or urgent care experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct and indirect medical care to meet the healthcare needs of patients within the facility
  • Formulate working diagnoses, develop and implement treatment plans, and evaluate or modify therapeutic regimens
  • Evaluate patients who have returned from off-site treatment
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies throughout the facility
  • Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational and training activities related to patient medical care

    • Additional Information

  • Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine is required (per state agreement)
  • Must hold a valid Arizona medical license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications required
  • Correctional facility background is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in urgent care settings is acceptable
  • EMR system : TechCare
