A reputable and global company is offering an opportunity in a large manufacturing facility near the eastern region of Atlanta, GA for a Senior CNC Machinist . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conduct research, design, and enhancement of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly techniques, and production machinery.
- Develop and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Coordinate the launch of new / revised products in the manufacturing process, establishing objectives, training team members, and assessing outcomes.
- Create staffing plans based on production volume forecasts for new projects.
- Provide input on product design based on manufacturing / design principles.
- Design, develop, test, and justify tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Analyze products / processes for cost reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency improvement.
- Develop and document quality systems for new projects (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans).
- Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
- Calculate required dunnage usage and oversee the design, testing, and ordering of necessary dunnage for new projects.
- Maintain documentation on downtime, scrap, and efficiency metrics.
- Utilize data on downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc., to develop strategies and solutions for equipment and process issues.
- Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to drive continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Three to five years of Engineering experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry. Consideration may be given to candidates with under 3 years of experience at a lower salary as a Production Engineer level 1.Must have expertise in CNC machining and ideally in plastic injection mold and automated high-volume assembly processes.Proficiency in manufacturing processes, flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Familiarity with automotive standards and OSHA regulations.Excellent communication and organizational abilities.Capability to motivate teams to achieve objectives.Proficient in MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint; some knowledge of Access preferred.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Required to sit or stand and move around the facility. Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Combination of office and plant settings. Protective gear like safety glasses and steel toe shoes may be necessary for specific tasks or areas.
