'We are seeking a skilled Heavy / Medium Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Schmidts Auto . This role is vital in maintaining our fleet of trucks and equipment to ensure reliable service for our customers. • 'Responsibilities'
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy and medium duty diesel trucks.
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, and system inspections.
• Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Assist in fabrication or modification projects when required. Display excellent communication skills while maintain business account , vendor and driver relationships
• 'Qualifications'
• Minimum High school diploma or GED
• post-secondary program
• : associate degree, technical diploma, or certificate. These programs require a range of skills and coursework, covering areas like diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emissions.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with heavy / medium duty trucks.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems and emission.
• Familiarity with schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Previous Hino, Peterbuilt or International Manufacture experience, is a plus.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay : $28.00 - $32.50 per hour
