Bioinformatics Engineer

The Select Group is looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer to join the team at one of our top life sciences clients. The team works with next gen sequencing and diagnostic instruments that help detect lung cancer and reproductive diseases. This person will be working on the bioinformatics pipeline, and will be testing existing and new features on the next gen sequencing applications / platforms.

What you'll bring :

• Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of work experience OR
• Masters Degree and 3+ years of experience OR
• PhD and 2+ years of experience
• Degree in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Computational Science, + others in the science field
• 3 years of coding experience and proficiency with at least 1 language (preference on Python)
• Familiarity and experience with Linux command lines
• Prior experience with next gen sequencing
• Soft skills : detail oriented, team player, flexible, able to work in fast paced environments
