Supervisor, Laboratory

Position Summary

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Laboratory staff and operation to meet Customer and Regulatory requirements. The laboratory supervisor is responsible for the onboarding, training, and managing performance of the laboratory staff.

What You'll Do as a Laboratory Supervisor

• Supervises workflow and technical staff in execution of Laboratory testing, in support of regulatory and quality system compliance to meet Customer specifications. 50-70%
• Mentors and develops staff for future opportunities 10-20%
• Provides regular feedback to staff on performance. 10%
• Identifies and executes operational opportunities for improvement to efficiency, quality and/or cost. 10%
• Works with Customers to develop technical methods and communicates overall timelines of projects, delivery of laboratory services, and technical details of the testing. 10%
• Initiates and executes Quality System Investigations, Customer Dissatisfactions and Corrective actions as required by procedure. 10%
• This position may require the use of equipment and / or power tools, as applicable.
• This position may require the incumbent to obtain their boilers license, as applicable.
• Contributes in a team effort by performing in accordance to all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

• A scientific bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role

Pay range for this opportunity is $69,000 to 76,000, based on expereince and skillset.This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
