What You Will Do On a Daily Basis:
  • Prepare and organize the operating room for surgical procedures
  • Ensure a sterile environment while strictly following infection control guidelines
  • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team as needed
  • Manage and maintain surgical equipment during all phases of surgery
  • Keep an eye on supplies to guarantee readiness for each operation
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and the entire surgical team for optimal patient care
  • Maintain accurate counts of instruments and document all necessary details
Education Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification Requirements:
  • Must hold a current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
  • BLS certification (to be obtained within 90 days of hire)
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Thorough understanding of surgical instruments and procedures across a range of specialties
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills under pressure
  • A knack for quickly prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of the surgical team
