Histotechnologist – Evening (2nd) Shift

Location : Charlottesville, VA

Compensation : $26.76 – $42.82 per hour

Shift : Evening (2nd Shift)

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Histotechnologist to join our laboratory team in Charlottesville, VA. This role is critical in supporting diagnostic, research, and educational efforts by performing high-quality histological procedures. The Histotechnologist will prepare tissue samples for microscopic analysis, maintain lab equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.

Perform histological procedures to aid in diagnosis, research, and instruction.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.

Train new team members and monitor daily workflow.

Initiate and participate in safety, quality control, and compliance activities.

Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Perform area-specific support and clinical tasks as needed.

Ensure all activities meet regulatory and accreditation standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

Education : Completion of a Histology Technician program accredited by NAACLS or education that meets eligibility for HTL (ASCP) certification.

Experience : At least 1 year of experience working in a Histology Laboratory.

Licensure / Certification : ASCP certification or equivalent is required.
