Summary:

Under supervision, provides support to surgical procedures by setting up operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies. Functions as scrub person throughout procedure.

Formal Education Required:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• BCLS Certification
• Knowledge of surgical principles and skills
• Current National Certified Surgical Technologist certification OR certification as Certified Surgical Technologist preferred

Experience and Training Required:

• Recent (or previous) operating room experience preferred

• Ability to operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments

• Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa: to create a patient care environment which is focused on the needs and expectations of the patient, our customer
• Ability to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties (e.g., suggesting innovative ideas and providing feedback on a team’s direction)
• Demonstrates flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services as is common with changing reimbursement and managed care targets
• Ability to stand/or for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients, cleaning equipment, and materials
• Ability to coordinate communication information for personnel, physicians, and patients
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
