Senior Database Administrator

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in MongoDB and familiarity with DB2 on z / OS . This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You’ll be responsible for designing, securing, automating, and maintaining enterprise-grade database platforms while supporting modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

Our ideal candidate will have :

Experience designing, installing, and configuring MongoDB on Linux platforms

Proven ability to automate backup, restore, and monitor tasks using Shell scripting

Experience documenting MongoDB installations , operations, and security across multiple environments (including cloud platforms)

Strong experience with MongoDB security , including TLS authentication and SSL key configuration

In-depth knowledge of Compass and MongoDB Ops Manager , including upgrades, groups, and project configurations

Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Hands-on experience with z / OS , and JCL

Familiarity with IBM DB2 utilities and tools

Job Responsibilities

• Utilizing logical models to ensure efficient and reliable database performance.
• Designing and developing logical and physical layers for various databases. Leading in handling data testing, reporting, back-ups and restorations.
• Managing and maintaining data in all production and non-production databases and replication servers.
• Providing technical assistance and mentoring staff on developing conceptual and logical database designs and physical databases.
