Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Intake Counselor to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health as a local painmanagement clinic. The Intake Counselorassess the needs of potential patients and facilitates the admission process; maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health -related services
2. Conducts clinical assessments; utilizes appropriate clinical forms during assessment; develops sound knowledge of applicable criteria; provides a comfortable caring approach to clients
3. Documentation reviews shows that forms, notes, and other applicable written information has been completed promptly and accurately

Education: Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed Louisiana RN, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPCpreferred.

Experience: 1-2years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.

Schedule: 9:30 PM - 5:30 PM
