Shift Notes

7p-7a, every other weekend (possibly more if needed)

🏥 ICU Unit Summary — Nampa Hospital (Floor 1)

Department : ICU | Beds : 10

Nurse : Patient Ratio : 1 : 2

Required Certs : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Radius Rule : 50 miles

👩‍⚕️ Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

Heart Failure

Respiratory Failure

Sepsis

Vented Patients

GI Bleeds

Strokes / TPA

Post-code

Pneumonia

Post-surgical patients (if complications occur; no specialty surgeries)

CRRT patients present, but travelers do NOT take CRRT

🧠 Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year ICU experience

First-time travelers accepted

Must be a strong team player

💉 Drips & Skills

RNs required to titrate drips

Common drips :

Propofol

Levophed

Dobutamine

Vasopressin

Fentanyl

Epinephrine

Diltiazem

🧑‍⚕️ Support Staff & Providers

Charge nurse each shift (no patient assignment)

Admin Supervisor on site 24 / 7

Crisis nurse 24 / 7

1 CNA per shift

Hospitalist in-house 24 / 7

Intensivist via telehealth 24 / 7

RT in ICU 24 / 7

RT equipment : Vents, High-Flow, BiPAP

📡 Monitoring

No telemetry / monitor techs

RNs interpret strips

System : Spacelabs

⏰ Scheduling

12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a)

Unit scheduler manages scheduling

Blocked / grouped shifts allowed

Weekend Requirement : As needed (often every other)

Holiday Requirement : Only if needed

Call / Standby : None

🔁 Floating

May float to Tele (typically 1 : 3, but may take full assignment)

May float to ICUs at Meridian & Boise

👕 Dress Code

Any color scrubs — clean & professional

🧭 Orientation

1–2 shifts , based on experience
