JOB SUMMARY
As an Application Developer , you will be responsible for programming, business and process analysis, and creation of software solutions to enhance business process efficiency. You will be directly involved in developing and maintaining the daily EDI files shared between our clients and vendors. To be successful, you must be a detail-oriented team-player who has the ability to adapt quickly to change, identify and research possible trends and adapt procedures accurately, act with a sense of urgency as needed, and have a passion for learning and personal growth. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task are also required. As an Application Developer you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to :
- Develop and / or plan for automated data processing systems from project inception to conclusion, and / or as directed
- Analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for developing programs
- Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user level documentation
- Analyze data files to and from clients, file formats and problems related to client conversions and implementations.
- Analyze the impact of compliance and regulation changes to existing programs and data file interfaces.
- Reverse engineer, analyze, troubleshoot, and fix script problems with inherit legacy programming
- Consistently maintain solid SDLC (software development life cycle) methodology
- Document updates / changes / fixes to all processes.
- Create, test, document and maintain custom solutions to various business needs using the appropriate coding / scripting / technology.
- Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
- Adhere to quality assurance and change control procedures.
- Investigate and resolve internal and external data-related issues, isolate, and remove root cause(s) of unwanted workflow behavior.
- Provide technical support, training, and problem resolution to super users in the operations community.
- Communicate and collaborate efficiently with other departments and resources from across the firm on projects to deliver desired outcomes.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.Experience using various programming languages, including Python, PHP, ASP, Microsoft Studio.Net, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, XHTML, PowerShell, JavaScript, JQuery, Use Case specifications, SQL, Angular.Office (including advanced Excel functions & formulas) and WordPerfect.Experience in writing FTP programming and middleware programmingExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse group of professionals in close cooperation.High accuracy and attention to detail requiredAbility to implement effective, efficient, and functional solutions.Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Ability to exercise independent judgment.Ability to work with limited supervision, proven problem-solving abilities, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.Familiarity with Collection Master Software, CLS, by Vertican Technologies, is a plus.Ability to multitask and handle working under pressure and time sensitive deadlinesExperience with Merge Templates, in word and word perfect driven by external data sources preferredExperience in Debt Collection and Legal Process preferredCOMPETENCIES
