Patient Care Technician
The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, support independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner while reporting any change to the nurse or medical staff.
Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical / surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown / intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn / Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. There are also 17 beds for medical / surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves).
Education : HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required) and one of the following required :
Certification / Licensure : Basic Life Support Certification
