Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Construction Survey Specialist to perform various surveying tasks using Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software. This role is critical for producing clear and accurate results in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educate and train field personnel on the operation of Machine Control GPS equipment.
- Conduct site localization, setup, pre-surveys, production surveys, and generate as-builts as needed.
- Verify and calibrate Machine Control systems, troubleshooting GPS issues as required.
- Perform site staking/layout and grade checks as necessary.
- Generate quantity reports for project managers and superintendents.
- Maintain accurate survey logs and records.
Requirements:
- Strong mathematical skills are essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with management, co-workers, vendors, and clients.
- Experience with Trimble data collection software and surveying equipment is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) is preferred.
- Able to read and interpret civil plans and specifications accurately.
- A motivated self-starter and team player with a passion for learning and advancement.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions, including uneven terrain and various weather.
- Willingness to travel, including moderate to extensive overnight stays.
- A clean driving record is necessary for driving a company vehicle.
Education and Experience:
- AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years of related field experience.
