Senior Platform Engineer AWS / Python / Terraform

Global Brokerage

Location : Chicago

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000 + benefits + bonus (20 - 50%)

Hybrid : In office 3 days per week

Role Responsibilities

System Management : Monitor and manage AWS-focused systems and infrastructure.

Platform Operations : Build and maintain a platform for cloud and on-premise application provisioning and operation.

Configuration and Maintenance : Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, software, and infrastructure tools.

CI / CD Development : Develop a continuous integration and deployment platform integrated with development tools.

Developer Experience : Enhance developer experience in cloud infrastructure and application deployment.

Policy and Guidelines : Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and CI / CD processes.

Automation : Implement workflow and toolchain improvements for task automation.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience : Minimum 5 years in a professional Platform Engineering role.

Cloud Proficiency : Securely deploy and manage AWS applications, with cloud-native tooling and security best practices.

Scripting Skills : Proficiency in Python.

Docker Proficiency : Experience with Docker containerisation for software deployment and scalability.

CI / CD Expertise : Automate software build, test, and deployment pipelines following agile methodologies.

Terraform Exposure : Beneficial experience with Terraform.

Observability Tools : Experience with Grafana and Splunk is beneficial, particularly in developing and applying an observability strategy across a large organisation.
