Scope of Position
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of daily manufacturing operations. This role provides leadership and direction to ensure excellence in safety, quality, customer service, and the efficient use of personnel, equipment, materials, and processes.
Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
- Champion plant safety initiatives, including safety training programs, safety meetings, audits, and employee-driven safety engagement activities.
Quality Leadership
Lead quality improvement efforts by implementing corrective actions for customer and internal complaints.Coordinate new product qualifications and participate in internal and external quality system audits.Develop and execute corrective action plans to support quality excellence.People Leadership
Select, train, and develop shift and staff personnel to support organizational growth and performance goals.Promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment and maintain an open-door culture.Operational & Financial Management
Review departmental operating statements and drive manufacturing performance to ensure costs remain within budget.Oversee production planning processes to satisfy customer requirements and optimize plant capacity and utilization.Maintain strong relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for system improvements and supply chain efficiencies.Continuous Improvement & Strategic Planning
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support both short-term and long-term plant objectives.Serve as the Plant Project Manager for new equipment, molds, and other operational initiatives.Lead the creation and execution of strategic and tactical plans that align with overall company objectives.Utilize Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to drive improvements across departments.Additional Duties
Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory processes in accordance with corporate guidelines.Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Service to support customer needs and optimize plant operations.Manage special projects as assigned.Travel up to 25% may be required.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and / or relevant plant management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of five years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment with proven leadership capabilities.Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and / or Kaizen methodologies preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, customers, and vendors.Proficient in computer and typing skills.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude.Consistent and reliable attendance.Strong collaboration skills with a proactive mindset and willingness to support team objectives.Ability to follow established processes and complete assignments within defined parameters and standard practices.#LI-DNI
