1099 Senior Financial Analyst

Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles across land, sea and air domains. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile 1099 Senior Financial Analyst with deep expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) cost accounting to strengthen our financial operations and program support. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to partner with Program Managers, provide program-level financial analysis, and support strategic decision-making alongside senior leadership. This individual will conduct core accounting functions, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and deliver meaningful program and financial analysis while helping manage indirect rates and overall financial efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting in Deltek Costpoint.
• Develop, implement, and monitor DoD-compliant cost accounting systems and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, DFARS, and GAAP for all government contracts.
• Provide financial and program analysis to Program Managers, monitoring trends, interpreting results, and adjusting project plans as needed.
• Partner with senior leadership (including the future CFO) to provide financial insights, pricing strategies, and support for compliant proposals.
• Analyze and manage contract structures, including T&M, FFP, CPFF, BOAs, IDIQs, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
• Apply expert knowledge of percentage-of-completion and estimate-at-completion accounting.
• Direct charge a portion of time to programs to help manage indirect costs and maintain competitive G&A rates.
• Ensure accuracy, sound judgment, and compliance in all financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in managerial finance, accounting, or a related field and at least seven years of progressive experience in a government contracting environment. Ability to demonstrate expert level knowledge of percentage of completion accounting / estimate at completion accounting. Understand financial analysis principles and have financial analysis skills. Strong knowledge allowable/unallowable cost of IR&D/B&P/direct chargeability. Strong computer skills (Deltek Costpoint, MS Office Suite, MS Project). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Experience in small to mid-size DoD contractor environments; Strong background in proposal pricing and cost volume development; Familiarity with ITAR, CMMC and other federal compliance requirements.
