We are currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for an inpatient psychiatry locum tenens opportunity in the state of Pennsylvania, near Adamsburg. • Weekends : 8 : 00 AM 4 : 00 PM + 4 : 00 PM 8 : 00 AM call
• Call required 1-2 days per week; possible weekend call
• Average response time for call : 30 minutes
• Patient Load

10-12 patients per shift

• Call Responsibilities

Consultations in the ED and med / surg units on weekends

• Inpatient rounding for psychiatric units
• 2-4 admissions on average when called in
• EMR System

Epic

• Support Staff

Midlevel providers will assist with new evaluations and summaries

Requirements :

• Board Certification / Eligibility

Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

• Licensing

Must be licensed in Pennsylvania

• Experience

Must have completed a Psychiatry residency; fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry preferred

• Familiarity with inpatient psychiatric care and involuntary commitments
• Experience in managing a range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and more
• Skills

Experience with pharmacotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and involuntary commitment is preferred

• Credentialing

14-day credentialing timeframe

Adults with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and other severe mental health issues

• No Hospital Stroke Certification Required
• No surgery center privileges needed

Additional Information :

• Call Coverage

The psychiatrist will be required to cover call shifts, including weekdays and weekends. During on-call shifts, the provider will respond to psychiatric emergencies, perform consultations, and provide care for patients admitted to the psychiatric unit.
