Senior Java Developer

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Senior Java Developer to support the PCS SCOR EI application. The contractor will enhance system functionality by modifying existing Java applications, updating business logic, extending user interfaces, and enhancing reporting capabilities. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve the SCOR system, ensuring high performance, security, and code quality across multiple environments.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain software solutions based on defined business requirements and technical specifications.
• Modify existing Java code, user interfaces, and business logic to support PCS SCOR EI application updates.
• Extend system data models and reporting capabilities using tools such as Crystal Reports and Power BI.
• Participate in application maintenance, enhancements, and defect resolution.
• Perform peer code reviews and unit testing using JUnit to ensure quality and coverage standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Document solutions, workflows, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with business users and IT teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Maintain compliance with agency security policies and procedures.
• Participate in on-call support rotation as required.
