Must have a thorough knowledge of generators, transformers and AC and DC power

Must have a thorough knowledge of wire sizes and the capacity of each.

Must be capable of properly setting up, and using electrical test equipment (i.e. voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, phase rotation meters and meggers).

Must be capable of reading and interpreting blue prints and wiring diagrams.

Must have the ability to conduct tests or checkpoints on completed work.

Must have some leadership and supervisory abilities, and supervises small work groups as required.

Must be able to determine material and man power requirements.

Must have significant experience in marine electrical work.

Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits aboard ship and at the shipyard facility.

Must demonstrate the ability to perform complex hook ups and installations on Navy shipboard equipment.

Should have working knowledge of Navy Standard Items.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

The level of proficiency and experience is determined by and at the discretion of the Electrical Manager.

May be assigned miscellaneous tasks outside craft as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

a high school diploma or GED, followed by a 4-5 year apprenticeship program that combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range : $44720 - $78520

Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
