About the role :

This position is responsible for obtaining authorization for ongoing patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Secures authorization for ongoing patient care.

2. Notifies internal team members of authorization status.

3. Notifies internal team members, Account Executives, doctors and patients of patient issues or delays in care.

4. Prepares Financial Obligation Notifications FOBs, annually and throughout the year if the insurance or the plan changes.

5. Updates computer system with any changes in insurance, insurance plan or benefits, alerts regarding insurance, authorization or patient issues.

6. Collects and processes co-insurance payments.

7. Processes rejections from Part D payers.

8. Investigates reimbursement issues from the Suspend Report.

9. Works with the Accounts Receivable Department to resolve insurance, claims or payment issues.

10. Trains new team members.

11. Assists in verifying benefits and eligibility.

12. Updates physician information in computer system when applicable.

13. Backs up to the Intake Department as needed.

14. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
