REFERENCE LIBRARIAN POOL

Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The purpose of this position is to provide reference assistance to students in person, and remotely by using online databases and / or printed resources. This individual will staff the Reference Desk, provide outreach planning and implementation, and / or by leading Library Instruction sessions to classes and groups as needed. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of the library reference interview.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of library instruction.

Ability to work nights and weekends when needed. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years experience giving reference assistance to students at the undergraduate level.

Three (3) years experience teaching library instruction at the undergraduate level. Special Instructions to Applicants This is a security-sensitive position. for print or online resources. Job Duty Provide Library instruction to classes, customizing the content of the instruction to the class. Job Duty Provide Outreach services, both planning and implementation, to market the Library and

increase the College and Community’s awareness of the Libraries’ mission. Job Duty Night and / or weekend shifts may be assigned.
