Electronics Mechanic Supervisor I
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Electrical / Electronic Shop (Code 950) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
You will exercise supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing electronics mechanic and / or mixed trade work.
You will deliver cost, schedule, and quality performance to customers.
You will assure equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline and awards to employees.
You will effectively support the economic operation of the shipyard, establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences.
You will conduct job briefings in accordance with applicable instructions.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Applying knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments, including current, voltage, resistance, Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, conductors, insulators.
Managing electrical and electronic work operations to meet established project deadlines.
Conducting quality checks of electronic equipment or products to determine quality, condition, or overall appearance.
Interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and local procedures.
Finding trouble; determining method of repair; adjusting or replacing and testing repaired equipment
Coordinating work with other units to meet a deadline.
Managing electrical work operations.
Setting priorities and coordinating the availability of equipment for routine maintenance.
