Title : EHS Manager
Travel : 20-25%
Compensation : $90-120K / yr
Responsible for developing, implementing, and administering health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies. Programs include accident prevention, loss control, environmental, and driver safety.
The EHS Manager works with all departments to foster a culture of safety that can be engrained in every employee and applied to each work function within the company. The EHS Manager will have regular communication with the executive team to summarize performance to company safety targets, and to provide guidance for future improvement. This role will report to the Director of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the EHS strategic plan, reviewed and updated on an annual basis to stay aligned with overall company strategy.
- Maintain regulatory compliance including reporting, training, and conducting audits / assessments as required across multiple facilities. Experience with DOT (PHMSA, HAZMAT, etc.), OSHA, EPA or any other regulatory agencies is beneficial.
- Responsible for maintaining, creating, and updating all required written programs that promote safe work practices, employee engagement and metrics improvement.
- Provide tools and support to mentor and coach managers so they can be effective safety leaders.
- Responsible for interacting with all employees including field personnel, sales representatives and CDL HAZMAT drivers to ensure the interpretation and implementation of health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop customer facing safety materials for our products / programs to ensure they are used in a safe manner.
- Manage all customer required online safety compliance programs.
- Manage annual employee safety training and new employee safety onboarding.
- Manage Accident, Incident, Near Miss, and Spill (AINMS) program.
- Oversee emergency response as required.
- Track all KPIs as assigned including development of new tools to manage information with IT department.
- Provide support and guidance to all company safety committees or Safety Improvement Teams (SITs), product development and quality teams as requested.
- Coordinate with Quality Management as related to EHS processes in general, and specifically as related to ISO 14001 certification.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience with a BS degree in a safety, environmental, or chemical related field. Master’s degree a plus.Beneficial certifications include : CSP, CIH, or CHMM.Experience with PHMSA, Hazardous Materials transportation, workers’ compensation, and OSHA preferred. An understanding of electrical and chemical safety is helpful.Must be motivated and visionary.Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite.Desired skill sets : leading teams, conducting audits, conducting incident investigations, and presenting in front of large groups.Strong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsExcellent project and time management skillsPhysical and Mental requirements : Required to sit for extended periods of time. Physical agility to access facility locations requiring possible use of ladder, climbing steps and standing or walking.
