Interventional Radiology Technologist (DRT - IR)

Location : VASDHS & CBOCs | Reports To : Chief / Supervisory Technologist | Schedule : Variable shifts; on-call (30-minute report time)

Compensation : $65.00 / hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness

Position Overview

Support interventional radiology procedures in a sterile environment, including angiography and image-guided interventions, ensuring procedural efficiency, sterility, and patient safety.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Set up sterile trays, scrub and circulate as needed; maintain sterile field and surgical counts.
• Operate and troubleshoot single and biplane IR equipment and contrast injectors .
• Assist physicians during a variety of vascular and non-vascular interventions; anticipate procedural needs.
• Prep patients, verify consents, support moderate sedation workflows per policy.
• Perform imaging acquisition, post-processing, and transmission to PACS ; document in VistA / CPRS .
• Manage supplies, implants, and contrast inventory; ensure radiation safety and ALARA practices.
• Participate in emergency response and complication management protocols.
