This position will record and monitor accounting transactions, and assist in the preparation of payroll, financial statements, and analysis for the electric and water utilities. If you like variety and working in a team environment, then this may be the position for you! / ppKey responsibilities include : / pulliRecord, monitor, and reconcile accounting activities across the general ledger and related sub ledger systems in accordance with accounting standards and policies. / liliPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, payroll statements, and capital spending reports; analyze variances and identify trends or discrepancies. / liliSupport audit activities by preparing work papers, schedules, and documentation; review supporting materials for accuracy and compliance. / liliRecord cash, investment, and debt-related activity; prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation in accordance with investment and financing policies. / liliAssist with accounting and reporting for capital projects, grants, contracts, and affiliated entities, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and compliance. / liliDevelop and maintain financial models and analytical tools to support forecasting, budgeting, and utility financial analysis. / liliSupport operational staff with budget monitoring, ledger inquiries, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies. / liliParticipate in preparation of financing documents, debt offerings, and ratings agency materials, with guidance from senior staff. / li / ulpWhat youll bring : / pulliApply governmental accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as applied to utilities utilizing computerized accounting systems. / liliAbility to analyze complex financial and operational data, exercise sound judgment, and identify risks, trends, and variances. / liliStrong technical aptitude with accounting systems, financial modeling tools, and advanced spreadsheets. / liliExperience working within established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. / liliAbility to communicate technical financial information clearly and effectively to a wide range of internal stakeholders. / liliStrong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities. / liliCollaborative, customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective working relationships and contribute positively to a team environment. / liliCommitment to professionalism, accountability, continuous learning, and culturally competent practices. / li / ulpPlease note : This posting includes supplemental questions.
