Information Technology
Under the general direction of the IT Infrastructure Supervisor, this position performs a variety of technical tasks in the area of information systems and networks.
They are required to perform tasks at and above the System Administrator level.
Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, network configurations, and disaster recovery testing and planning for the systems that they have been assigned.
Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
Provides technical support and guidance to users.
This position has responsibility for the analysis of hardware and software in a distributed networking environment utilizing accepted network management and monitoring software and systems.
This position deals with moderate to advanced levels of technical systems and assists the hospital in achieving cost effective objectives through state-of-the-art technologies.
Prepares program documentation and procedures.
The System Engineer is also responsible for the vetting and design of purchased systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve network production problems.
This includes working as a team member to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
May also require working with vendors to resolve complex network problems.
Substantial knowledge of servers in order to recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
Provide backup and data security.
Knowledge of VMware technologies is essential.
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
Analyzes network, sub-network hardware, software configurations, and performs systems diagnostics.
Completes or escalates incidents and service requests in a timely fashion.
Provides escalation assistance to all IT team members.
Education : Associate's degree in related field required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensure : One of the following certifications must be obtained and maintained within six months of hire : CISSP or VMware VCP, or SVH approved equivalent.
Experience : Eight (8) years' experience in the computer networking field, with at least five (5) years maintaining and administering server and data networks.
Familiar with standard concepts, best practices, and procedures.
Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft security practices.
Essential Technical / Motor Skills : Knowledge and ability to work with electronic devices, microprocessor-based systems and peripherals.
Knowledge and proven ability working as an analyst / administrator, utilizing network management software.
The hourly rate for this position is $59.60 - $74.50.
