Lead Business Analyst – IT & Quality Assurance
The Lead Business Analyst – IT & Quality Assurance works with business stakeholders and IT to understand the full lifecycle of the organization’s business and technology ecosystem. This role focuses primarily on business analysis while also overseeing quality assurance activities to ensure production changes meet high-quality standards. The successful candidate will partner with business teams to define requirements, collaborate with development teams on technical solutions, and coordinate testing processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Leadership
- Develop and maintain productive relationships within IT and across the organization
- Serve as a liaison between IT and other departments to identify new solutions and resolve system quality issues
- Supervise a team of employees and offshore contractors through testing of each release
- Build institutional knowledge focused on business analysis, QA, and problem solving
- Perform other duties or special projects as required
Business Analysis (70%)
Work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirementsCollaborate with Application Development to ensure business requirements are translated into effective technical solutionsLeverage insurance experience and interviewing skills to formulate requirements for system enhancementsMeet with Senior Management to articulate functionality, capabilities, and available optionsQuery SQL Server and interpret data relationships to support analysis and reportingQuality Assurance (30%)
Coordinate and perform testing activities with business users and developers, including functional tests, regression tests, and data verificationDevelop standardized test plans and test cases with expected results, covering user interfaces, application functionality, system interfaces, and ad-hoc testingDocument and report test results, log issues and defects, and recommend resolution strategiesDevelop, document, and maintain QA standards and methodologiesEstablish and manage quality performance metrics and report progress to IT Senior ManagementAssess, oversee, and improve test automation processes to ensure appropriateness for the organizationEnsure acceptance criteria are appropriate for each enhancement requestWHAT YOU’LL BRING
BS in Computer Science or a related field7–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst with commercial underwriting exposureExperience performing functional, hands-on testing of commercial insurance applicationsStrong collaboration skills, working effectively with both business and technical teamsAbility to learn new and complex topics quicklyOutstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
