Job Position : Special Education Teacher (5th / 6th Grade Inclusion)

Location : Chicago, IL 60612

Pay Rate : $40.00 / hr to $50.00 / hr

Shift : Description :

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated 5th / 6th Grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher to join a supportive school team beginning in January and continuing through the end of the 20252026 school year near Jackson Blvd in Chicago

Position Overview :

The selected candidate will support a diverse caseload of approximately 7 students , including :

5 students receiving inclusion / co-teaching support in reading

1 student with direct pull-out math services

1 student receiving independent functioning support and inclusion math services for behavior

This role requires strong collaboration skills, effective instructional planning, and a commitment to student growth within both inclusive and small-group settings.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelors degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

LBS1 endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with co-teaching strategies

Skilled in writing IEPs

Ability to collect and interpret progress monitoring data

Experience developing behavior intervention plans

Familiarity with Chicago Public Schools databases (ASPEN / IMPACT)
