We're looking for a Cloud Network Engineer to be the foundational networking and security expert for our Forward Engineering team. You'll ensure our growing customers land securely and efficiently onto the DigitalOcean platform. This role owns the design and implementation of complex migration landing zones, VPC topologies, and hybrid cloud connectivity. Your expertise is critical for solving the initial technical hurdles that block large-scale cloud adoption.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Design and implement secure cloud landing zones for incoming customer workloads, establishing VPCs, subnets, and segmentation.
- Configure and troubleshoot complex hybrid connectivity solutions including VPNs, dedicated connections, and firewall rulesets.
- Establish and enforce networking and security controls (ACLs, Security Groups) to ensure a robust security posture for migrated services.
- Collaborate closely with the Platform Engineering team to codify network configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Provide deep technical expertise on network performance, latency, and throughput during the migration assessment and cutover phases.
What We'll Expect From You :
5+ years of experience in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, or cloud security roles.Strong practical expertise in routing protocols, VPN technologies, and cloud-native networking (VPCs, Load Balancers, Gateways).Experience with cloud security principles including Identity and Access Management (IAM) and network intrusion detection.Proficiency with configuration tools (e.g., Terraform) or a strong willingness to adopt IaC principles for network management.Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and connectivity issues in hybrid environments.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.Compensation Range :
