Position Overview

A leading healthcare system in Beckley, WV is seeking an experienced Nursing Director (RN) to oversee Surgical Services . This leadership role is responsible for managing perioperative operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving quality, safety, and operational efficiency across all surgical departments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide operational and clinical leadership for all Surgical Services areas, including OR, PACU, Pre-Op , and related perioperative units.

Implement and uphold standards aligned with AORN, ASPAN, CMS, Joint Commission , and internal regulatory requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in patient safety, quality, and service delivery.

Mentor, develop, and evaluate perioperative nursing staff to maintain a highly skilled and accountable team.

Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, and hospital leadership to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) .

Current West Virginia RN license (or eligible for immediate licensure).

5 7 years of perioperative nursing experience , including OR leadership or management roles.

Strong understanding of perioperative standards (AORN, ASPAN) and federal / regulatory guidelines (CMS, Joint Commission).

BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe).
