Position Summary
The Vice President of Sales for Specialty Physician Office will lead the national sales strategy and execution for Cardinal Health’s Specialty Physician Office business. This individual will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships across multiple therapeutic areas such as oncology, urology, rheumatology, ophthalmology, neurology, and infusion therapy practices.
This role requires a seasoned leader with deep industry expertise, proven experience in the Specialty Physician Office space, and the ability to influence cross-functionally to deliver enterprise-wide solutions.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Health Systems & Provider Distribution Services.
Territory : Across the United States
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Build deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance market strategies and position Cardinal Health as a partner within the industry
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Cardinal Health’s Specialty growth objectives, including MSO expansion, GPO partner platform growth, and hospital-owned physician office initiatives
- Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities
- Leverage Cardinal Health’s enterprise footprint to bring integrated solutions – distribution, practice management, specialty pharmacy services and analysis – directly to customers
Revenue & Market Growth
Achieve segment financial goals for topline revenue and operating earningsDrive new business development and retention strategies to meet or exceed annual targetsExpand presence in key therapeutic areas : oncology, urology, retina, rheumatology, and infusionEnterprise Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver holistic solutions that benefit the entire enterpriseInfluence across business units to align priorities and resolve service issues, ensuring a seamless customer experienceTeam Leadership & Development
Lead and inspire a team of sales directors, managers, and account executivesFoster a culture of engagement, recognition, and professional developmentEnsure operational discipline in SG&A and T&E spend, including trade show participationCustomer Engagement
Serve as the voice of the customer, building trusted relationships with physician offices, MSOs, and manufacturer partnersRepresent Cardinal Health at industry events and forums to strengthen brand presence and thought leadershipQualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferredMinimum 15 years of healthcare sales and account / relationship management experience preferredClinic and or physician office sales experience, specifically within oncology and urology specialties, strongly preferredExcellent planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skillsAbility to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with organizational growth objectivesDeep understanding of physician office financial complexities and wholesale distributionSkilled in resolving service issues and delivering holistic solutions for a seamless customer experienceExecutive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with physician offices, MSOs, and manufacturersExecutive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilitiesProven ability to design win‑win strategies for the company and the client baseSelf‑starter; able to determine, independently, solutions that ensure business objectives are achieved within acceptable tolerancesAbility to travel 50‑75% within the territory; work from home when not travelingWhat is expected of you and others at this level
