The
Workforce Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring organizational adherence to federal, state, and company-specific workforce compliance standards. This position is responsible for supporting Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, overseeing Background Check processes, monitoring Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), and supporting other compliance-related functions as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
ResponsibilitiesDrug & Alcohol Program Compliance - Administer and audit the company's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing.
- Ensure compliance with DOT and non-DOT regulations.
- Coordinate with third-party administrators (TPAs) and collection sites.
- Maintain accurate records and generate compliance reports.
Background Checks - Support the end-to-end background check process for new hires and internal transfers.
- Review and assess background check results in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) - Conduct regular MVR reviews for employees in driving-related roles.
- Ensure compliance with company driving standards and applicable regulations.
- Track license expirations, violations, and required corrective actions.
General Compliance Support - Assist in internal audits and investigations related to workforce compliance.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with retention policies.
- Support policy development and training initiatives.
- Stay current with changes in employment laws and compliance regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS - High School Diploma or GED
- 3-4 years' experience in compliance and drug and alcohol program compliance
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
PREFERRED - Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Experience with compliance audits and reporting.
- Familiarity with third-party background check and drug testing vendors.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work will be in a professional corporate office environment operating and functioning at a fast pace. Working out of a contemporary office space with an open layout. Office noise will be low and generally consist of neighbors' phone-calls, conversations and/or laughter. You can expect people to treat you with friendliness and respect throughout the Zachry campus.
