Home Health Aide

About the Role:

The Home Health Aide plays a critical role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and supporting their independence while respecting their dignity. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or equivalent state certification.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and assisted living practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for client care.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in long-term care or home care settings.
• Training in home settings and healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patience and empathy.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain hygiene and comfort.
• Provide support with mobility and transfers to prevent falls and promote physical activity within clients' capabilities.
• Administer medication reminders and monitor clients for any changes in health or behavior, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare providers.
• Perform light housekeeping duties including sanitization to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
• Document care activities and client progress accurately using computer data entry systems while maintaining confidentiality.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing time effectively to prioritize client needs and appointments.
• Communicate empathetically and respectfully with clients and their families to foster trust and emotional support.
