Position Summary

The role of the Polysomnographic Technologist - Non-Registered reports to the Sleep Lab Manager. This position, under supervision of a registered Polysomnographic Technologist, is responsible for providing a comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Calibrate and prepare equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Conduct patient introduction and orientation to the clinic including; patient evaluation, education and documentation
• Perform patient hook-up according to AASM published standards
• Monitor the patient during the procedure and intervene, as necessary
• Review data and score the polysomnographic study after the data acquisition
• Assist with initial training of new staff and help with on-going in-services and training

Qualifications

Work Environment : This position will spend 60% of the time walking and / or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and / or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 40% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position may be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
