Shipping And Receiving Specialist Duties
The Shipping And Receiving Specialist performs a range of tasks associated with receiving, applying part ID, packaging, and shipping completed product to our customers. Shipping Specialists 1 employees are expected to work independently with occasional technical assistance. A focus on fine details is critical to ensure customer orders are delivered on time to the correct location, with the correct parts and the exact quantity ordered.
Essential Functions
Part MarkingVerify the part matches engineering, and identify approved marking methodSet up and test marking equipment and obtain acceptance buy off to ensure correct marking; provide verification and acceptance buyoff for others performing marking.Verify part counts, sign off work orders, and close job or job sequence in the computerWrap / package parts to provide adequate protection for storage / shippingAccurately route parts to next processIdentify work orders with insufficient part marking instructions or issues with existing instructions and submit to Planning for resolution.Inventory Control / PickingPlace completed orders / inventory into pre-existing locations in storesLocate and accurately pull stock required for shipping from stores locationsMaintain accurate stock locations and packagingPick orders for Assembly jobs and shipping kitsPerform stock checks and cycle counts as requiredReceivingValidate incoming shipments against packing slips and perform initial receiving transactions (MOD)Inspect incoming parts from finish operations, ensuring correct finish is applied, masking was done per drawing, finishes applied and documented on certification paperwork matches our PO requirements, and part counts match.Perform final receiving transactions for acceptable parts, initiate rejections for non-conformancesSafely load and unload trucks using a forklift or pallet jackReceive incoming hardware (standards) shipments, validating certification paperwork, quantity ordered / received, condition and accuracy of items shipped, and perform receiving transactions.Route received items to storage locations.ShippingPick parts per an assigned shipping schedule and package for shippingValidate part numbers, part quantity, and shipping requirements to ensure the correct parts are delivered, on time and in the right quantityPackage adequately to protect parts during transitProduce required packing slips, Advanced Shipment Notification, and carrier labelsOrganize outgoing shipments for carrier pickupMinimum Qualifications
Level 1 position - must have a high school diploma or equivalent Level 2 position - must have a high school diploma or equivalent minimum 2 years shipping and receiving experience
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with aerospace product drawings and specifications
