Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Enterprise AI Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated AI Product Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to build and manage generative AI applications for various business units across TMNA.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, the person in this role will support the Enterprise AI department's objective to empower TMNA users by integrating the latest advancements in AI technology into both new and existing applications securely and responsibly.

This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.

What you’ll be doing

  • Define and articulate the long-term product vision and strategic roadmap for AI applications in the Strategy & Innovation area of TMNA, ensuring alignment with Toyota's overarching business objectives and market demands.

  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, marketing, and business stakeholders, to gather comprehensive requirements and prioritize high-impact features for AI product development.

  • Spearhead the Agile product development lifecycle, facilitating sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder reviews to ensure the timely delivery of innovative and high-quality AI solutions for Strategy & Innovation, especially internal platforms for Retrieval Augmented Generation chatbots that are accessed across the entire organization for general productivity.

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and customer needs, driving innovation and differentiation in Toyota's AI product offerings.

  • Develop and oversee detailed product documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications, and ensure clarity and alignment throughout the development process.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for all product-related inquiries, providing strategic updates to senior leadership and ensuring transparency and alignment across all levels of the organization.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI products, leveraging data-driven insights to inform iterative improvements and maximize user satisfaction and engagement.

  • Foster a high-performance culture within the product team, promoting collaboration, innovative thinking, and proactive problem-solving to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with product development, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and ethical considerations in AI technologies.

  • Represent Toyota at high-profile industry events and conferences, showcasing AI product innovations and establishing strategic relationships with key stakeholders and thought leaders in the AI community.

What you bring

  • Minimum 10+ years relevant experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in product management or technical product ownership, with a strong focus on AI applications and technologies.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, delivering complex AI products from concept to market.

  • Understanding of machine learning and AI technologies, including familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable product strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in market research and competitive analysis, with a keen ability to identify trends and customer needs that drive product innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Added bonus if you have

  • An advanced degree is preferred.

  • Relevant certifications in AI/ML (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning) or Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMI-ACP) are a plus.

  • Understanding of ethical considerations and regulatory requirements related to AI technologies, ensuring compliance and responsible innovation.
