Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including psychiatric history, mental status exams, and assessment of psychosocial functioningDiagnose and treat psychiatric disorders utilizing evidence-based treatment plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex conditionsPrescribe, titrate, or discontinue psychotropic medications within licensure scopeDeliver brief, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions (CBT, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing)Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, primary care, and nursing teams in care planning and treatment team roundsComplete accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, progress notes, medication orders, and discharge summariesMonitor treatment response, side effects, and medication adherence; order and interpret relevant laboratory or diagnostic testsProvide crisis intervention and risk assessment, including management of suicidal or homicidal ideation and coordination of higher levels of care as neededParticipate in specialized areas such as electroconvulsive therapy (observation / support role), substance use disorder treatment (including buprenorphine waiver), management of severe neurocognitive disorders, forensic psychiatric evaluations, child / adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and group therapy facilitationAdditional Information
