Performs clinical analyses in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Immunoassay, and Urinalysis with precision, accuracy and according to laboratory policies and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements in order to provide results of the highest level of quality to physicians and their patients. Directives will be from Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Supervisor. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the mission and values of DuPage Medical Group. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, and guests.
Delegates staff assignments appropriately and prioritizes work scheduleMonitors quality control and quality assurance on a daily, weekly and monthly basisCoordinates and monitors implementation of new reagent lots, adjusts ranges when necessaryIdentifies, troubleshoots and resolves technical problems related to methodology and instrumentationCoordinates preventative maintenance procedures as warranted by service agreementStaff training / competency assessments (initial, 6 month & annual)Assists with performance evaluations in conjunction with supervisorContributes to policy and procedure developmentProficiency testing oversight, responsible for submitting resultsMaintains adequate inventory of suppliesMonitors and reviews reported resultsParticipates in development and educationSupervises work performed by department and may delegate work to staff members. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution.Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and training. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.May be responsible for performance evaluations as required by Human Resources.Responsible for managing the schedule, time keeping, and payroll if necessary.Any other duties as assignedQualifications
Education
Current Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Lab Scientist certification is required (ASCP / AMT).Bachelor's degree in a science related areaClinical laboratory experience required and leadership experience is preferred.Must have a current understanding of various methodologies for specific testing including : limitations of testing, reference methods, cross-reactivity, sensitivity, specificity, appropriate test utilization, and interpretation of results.Experience with Roche, Siemens and Sysmex analyzers a plus.Must have current knowledge of CLIA, CAP and OSHA guidelines and regulations.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $30.25-45.35, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
