Job Description
Position Summary :
The Director of Business Development will focus on lead generation, prospecting and new client engagement, developing strategic plans, and building customer relationships within their territory (East Coast / Mid-Atlantic Focus). The BD will work with multiple service groups to drive measurable results that benefit our business. The BD will build and maintain strong relationships with key clients while also generating new potential customers through networking and market research. Ability to implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach, strengthens client relationships, and builds our market share. They will also actively seek out other business opportunities that can boost revenue and set our company apart.
Main Responsibilities :
- Actively seek to identify new opportunities to expand customer portfolio in the agreed sales territory (East Coast / Mid-Atlantic focus) with the goal of exceeding sales targets.
- Identify potential new customers in the agreed sales territory.
- Represent the Company on prospective customer visits, conduct presentations, and follow-up activities with the goal of contract closure.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person meetings, both internally and externally, with the goal of efficiently resolving issues.
- Utilize tools such as Global Data, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, and others to research, evaluate, and develop prospect lists.
- Develop and maintain an accurate and up to date database of high value contacts and interactions in Salesforce.
- Actively collaborate with Marketing, leadership, Commercial Operations and the Scientific teams to increase engagement with potential clients.
- Assist in the development of a business strategy to increase Company’s market share in drug discovery industry.
- Execute business strategy to ensure growth and positive customer ratings.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with clients.
- Conduct high-level industry research to develop and maintain effective sales solutions.
- Maintain industry knowledge in drug discovery.
- Expert in Company’s portfolio of drug discovery assays.
- Partner with scientific directors to address clients assay service needs.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders.
- Create and deliver presentations to clients and prospective clients.
- Record accounts, track prospective leads and contacts within the Company sales software system.
- Work with client services group to prepare price quote proposals.
- Prepare and submit sales agreements.
- Drive end-to-end sales process. Other duties as assigned.
- Independently and responsibly participate in professional conferences.
Key Qualifications :
