Job Summary:

The Floor Technician at Verde Clean is responsible for performing specialized cleaning and maintenance tasks on a variety of floor types, including carpets, wood, tile, and more. The goal is to ensure that all floor surfaces are maintained in impeccable condition while adhering to eco-friendly cleaning practices.

Responsibilities:

• Floor Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning, maintenance, and restoration tasks on different types of floors, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, and waxing.
• Knowledge of Products and Equipment: Possess in-depth knowledge of various eco-friendly cleaning products, equipment, and techniques used for different floor materials.
• Surface Preparation: Prepare floor surfaces before cleaning by removing obstacles, moving furniture as necessary, and protecting surrounding areas from cleaning agents.
• Stain and Debris Removal: Identify and effectively treat stains and debris on carpets and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot floor cleaning equipment, such as carpet cleaners, floor polishers, and steam cleaners.
• Eco-friendly Practices: Adhere to Verde Clean's commitment to eco-friendly cleaning practices by using approved eco-friendly products and minimizing waste generation.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of tasks performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the cleaning processes.
• Customer Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, addressing concerns and providing information about the cleaning process, timelines, and expected results.
• Safety Measures: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for both employees and clients, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning agents.
• Quality Control: Conduct post-cleaning inspections to ensure the quality of work meets Verde Clean's standards.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in floor cleaning techniques and eco-friendly practices.

GENERAL PURPOSE

The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of the assigned workplace. Responsible for ensuring that the facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for occupants, employees, and visitors. Responsible for cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS DESCRIPTION

• Cleaning and Maintenance: Responsible for sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, dusting and cleaning surfaces, including desks, tables, counters, and fixtures. Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners. Responsible for cleaning windows and glass surfaces. Required to clean and disinfect common areas such as hallways, stairs, and elevators.
• Supply Replenishment: Responsible for monitoring and restocking bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizers. Responsible for refilling hand hygiene product dispensers and ensuring an adequate supply in other areas as needed.
• Floor Care: Responsible for sweeping and mopping hard floors to maintain cleanliness and appearance. Responsible for vacuuming carpets and rugs. Responsible for operating floor cleaning equipment like polishers, burnishers, and steam cleaners. Ensures proper functionality and maintenance of cleaning equipment. Reports any defective equipment to the site supervisor for repair.
• Safety and Security: Responsible for identifying and addressing safety hazards and potential security issues. Quickly reports any unsafe conditions or incidents to the site supervisor. Maintains open communication with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning supplies, equipment needs, and any issues that arise.
• Safety and Compliance: Must comply with safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks associated with cleaning products and equipment. Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Customer Service: Required to provide courteous and helpful assistance to building occupants, visitors, and colleagues.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Below are the minimum qualifications required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position: must be detail-oriented and a team player.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ability to interact with staff, visitors, and employees on the job site while maintaining professionalism, courtesy, and kindness.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
